Back Of House

  • a green room, dressing rooms for up to 66 people, toilet and bathroom facilities in line with performers’ expectations and disabled access and facilities.
  • orchestra assembly and choral assembly rooms; laundry and wardrobe areas; an under-stage trap room; a workshop; and good access to performance space. 
  • There will be stage space on all levels with excellent access to a freight elevator for movement of equipment with no interruption to hirer’s activities. 
  • A loading dock at truck deck height will provide ease of loading.
  • There will be a safe and accessible stage door entrance, a large and spacious scene dock and wing space, and an orchestra pit with automated ease of installing or creating a thrust stage.

Front Of House

  • Large and spacious public foyers which will allow for easy access for the two theatres.  These foyers allow for greater public access and will be highly visible from the street. They will be used for pre and post functions, as public meeting rooms, and to display artworks.  
  • The main auditorium will have new seating increasing in capacity from 460 to 620. The extra seating will still allow for an intimate theatre experience in the main auditorium. 
  • An additional studio theatre will seat up to 200 people.  It is a flexible space with doors that open into the foyer. 
  • There will be an increased number of toilets, improved egress for emergencies, and regulation disabled access. 
  • A commercial kitchen will be installed in a better location to service public spaces. 
  • Three offices and a meeting room will house the theatre administration staff.
